Willie started completing in rallycross in 2000 in an Ex Gordon Rogers Vauxhall Nova. From the start Willie was competitive and on the pace.  In his first full season in rallycross Willie claimed his first overall class championship win and ended up fourth in the overall Irish Championship. 

Since 2001, Willie has racked up countless number of championship wins.

At the end of the 2007 championship Willie finished 1st in 1600cc class and 3rd in the overall Modified Championship.

When the  08 -09  Winter Championship  started in September,Willie had moved up to the 2 litre after purchasing the ex Gordon Rodgers opel corsa. Willie clinched his first 2 litre class championship and finished third in the  overall championship .
